Making Letterpress and Emboss Text Effect in Adobe Photoshop
In this tutorial, you will learn how to give letterpress an emboss effects to the text, by using adjustment layer, new layer style effects provided by Adobe Photoshop.
STEPS of Letterpress Effect

Make a new layer then select the brush tool and choose a large soft brush with around 150px size and hardness set to 0%, set the foreground color to black and background color to white, holding shift brush around the edges.
To unite the layers click on the top layer, hold Shift + Ctrl and click on the bottom layer. Then click Ctrl + G to group them, Select the Type Tool (T) and type in your text. I used a font called Myriad Pro, set to Bold, 95pt size, Spacing -10 pt. After you’ve typed your text do a right click on the layer and click Rasterize Type. Double click on the text layer and hit the changes as below;
